Rania Ghaly is the Executive Director of Apex Language and Career College (ALCC) in Halifax, Nova Scotia, a Languages Canada-accredited institution and Designated Learning Institution. With more than 20 years of experience spanning K–12, adult, and post-secondary education, she has held roles including classroom teacher, Academic Coordinator, Department Head, Vice-Principal, Registrar, and Executive Director. Throughout her career, she has focused on creating high-quality language learning environments that support student achievement, institutional excellence, and equitable access to education.
Rania's professional interests include language assessment, program quality assurance, curriculum development, and the integration of assessment practices that promote learner success. She has contributed to provincial and national initiatives through organizations such as TESL Nova Scotia, TESL Canada, and EduNova, and is committed to advancing best practices in language education, professional standards, and assessment for diverse learner populations, including international students, newcomers, and multilingual learners.
